Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

Heather & Matt’s wedding was such a fun, amazing day. I adored getting to know them both over the process of their engagement. Heather’s warm personality, so full of life & joy. Matt’s sweet smile and kind heart. It’s amazing to see their personalities come through in the photographs on the wedding day!

Heather & Matt were married in Cleveland, Georgia at the Ruins at Kellum Valley Farm. And y’all, I absolutely adore this venue! Guests looked upon the north Georgia mountains during the ceremony and enjoyed an al fresco reception amidst the ruins afterwards. It was the perfect setup for relaxing and dancing the night away! Heather’s style and attention to detail came through in everything from the florals (created by Lesley of the Bride’s Bouquet) to the ceremony programs she DIYed. Heather & Matt’s wedding was also just featured on The Lovely Find, so mosey on over and check it out!

Heather and Matt, y’all are such an amazing pair. I’m oh so glad I was able to capture your wedding and get to know you! Thank you for your joy, for sharing your creativity with me and above all for enjoying your wedding day because that joy and happiness spilled over into the photographs and into the hearts of everyone around you. I look forward to our next adventure! 😉 Much love and appreciation – Carrie Joy

Heather & Matt’s custom cake topper (made to look like them) was perfect for a ring shot!

Heather, your smile lights up the room! I love that excited energy during the getting ready process.

Oh, y’all, I am obsessed with Heather’s bouquet! My dear friend Lesley of the Bride’s Bouquet did such an amazing job on all Heather’s florals; it’s always such a pleasure to work with her! 🙂

Heather’s soft colors were perfect for a rustic, spring wedding & these J. Crew dresses (silk chiffon in dusty shale) looked amazing on all the girls!

I captured Heather & Matt’s wedding using a combination of film & digital, and I love how film captures the colors & light of the day. This is one of my favorite shots of Matt captured on film.

Joy overflows! Heather, you are too cute! Love this one Kristina (my second photographer) captured of the happy bride. And below, one of my favorites of Heather’s Mom just moments before the ceremony.

There were so many sweet moments during Heather & Matt’s ceremony including the ceremony music being performed by her cousins – they were amazing!

After the ceremony, we were able to grab some photos with the 8 week old puppy (who lived on the farm), and both Heather & I were obsessed with him! Isn’t he just adorable?!

During cocktail hour, guests mingled and enjoyed the outdoor bar complete with beer in a vintage bathtub!

The reception centerpieces were gorgeous! The canning jars with soft pink and yellow ranunculus, mason jars filled with dusty miller and lanterns full of peaches were a southern girl’s dream!

The delicious spread was provided by Honeybrook Catering & I loved the chalkboard menu!

I loved Heather & Matt’s gorgeous wedding cake made by Cynthia Taggart; check out the gold foil layer!

Heather & Matt’s first dance was to “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” that her grandfather loved and sang at a few weddings. It was a wonderful tribute and such a sweet moment during the evening!

So, a baby goat was born during Heather & Matt’s ceremony. Can you believe it? He was so adorable & we got to meet him!  Heather and her family also fed and pet the horses during the reception, and the newlyweds challenged their cousins in a game of badminton! It was such a fun reception!

Along with cake, guests had their choice of other sweet treats from the dessert bar including chocolate covered strawberries and red velvet whoopee pies!

That moment when the newlyweds feed each other cake is always fun & silly! Don’t you just love their expressions?

Heather’s friends of the band The King’s Crow kept the party rocking through the night!

Congratulations, Heather & Matt! I loved being a part of your wedding day!

I seriously never get tired of looking at these pictures! Let’s do it again already! You and Kristina did SUCH an amazing job. Seriously. Everyone I’ve showed my wedding album to has said they were amazing! I’ve had several family members ask for one to keep since they weren’t able to make it to the big day. You two are the best. I really would get married every year just so you could take our photos. Matt says once was enough though, haha. But there’s always maternity shots, and babies and family portraits, and renewing vows, and and and! Let’s just have a party every year. I love a good reason to get together and celebrate! But yes, thanks again for everything.
