Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

I have really enjoyed getting to know Helen and Hunter. I love Helen’s southern roots, her strength, sweetness and the way she and Hunter support one another. I love the beautiful way Hunter adores her; you can see it in his eyes. Theirs is a love that’s been strengthened through time apart and I asked Helen to share a bit of their story:

“Hunter and I have known each other since 6th grade. We were friends throughout middle school and high school and became best friends senior year. We started dating after high school graduation. We survived long-distance for 3 years at different schools, sharing our college experiences with each other. We’re very happy living so close to each other now in Atlanta!”

We celebrated their new life together in Atlanta by utilizing several of Atlanta’s beauties as a backdrop for their session! I loved shooting around Lullwater Park for the first time. Seeing the ducks on the lake and the beautiful afternoon light filter through the trees were two highlights. We finished the session on Georgia Tech’s campus where we revisited Tech Tower – the location where Hunter proposed!

Helen & Hunter, y’all are such a joy! I have really enjoyed getting to know you both. There’s a deep strength in both of you that I can clearly see even from having only spent a short time with you. I love how grounded and supportive you both are, and I’m so excited for this next step in your story. I look forward to capturing your wedding next June!

What is it about Hunter that you love the most? – “I love that Hunter knows me inside and out. We work together as a team, and he doesn’t let my thoughts and feelings go unnoticed.”

What is it about Helen that you love the most? – “I love that Helen supports me in everything I do. Her steadfast devotion inspires me to be the best version of myself.”

Helen, you are stunning! And your freckles are just darling! 🙂

Doesn’t Helen’s gorgeous ring look stunning against her gold and turquoise necklace?! LOVE!

About the Proposal: “Hunter and I talked about getting engaged for several months before he proposed on March 1. I was exhausted, driving back from a school event in Savannah. He called on the way home to tell me he wanted to do something special for dinner that night. I had the slightest hint that he might be proposing that night, but when he showed up at my door for dinner, he seemed so calm and collected (he’s not normally a good secret keeper!). We went to dinner and ended the night in the gardens under the Georgia Tech Tower. Two of his best friends hid in the bushes with a camera and champagne. It was very simple and beautiful. Exactly what I wanted. I (of course) cried, and I was so impressed that he surprised me!”

Helen & Hunter – Congrats! Can’t wait for your wedding next year!
