Italy at any time of the year is magical. A rich history in the arts, culinary prowess and the stunning cities & vistas make it one of the top destinations in the world. Add the warm culture & hospitable people and you’ll get a glimpse into why it’s my favorite country in the world! And there’s an even richer experience found in exploring Italy in the fall. The heat has subsided, the crowds have dispersed and landscape comes alive with vibrant fall color. In Tuscany, it’s also the grape and olive oil harvest, and menus come alive with pumpkin and truffle. Choosing Tuscany for your destination wedding means sharing that magic with your closest family and friends. (And it’s likely no surprise that Italy tops my own list of vow renewal destinations!)
Today I’m sharing a glimpse into the romance of Tuscany with the beautiful elopement of Consuelo & Fulvio in Siena. We started our time at the iconic Piazza del Campo. The open space and textured walls were a beautiful backdrop to capture their details and more intimate moments without competing with the liveliness of town. From there, we walked through the city streets, stopping in a few picturesque passageways as we went before concluding our time at the Duomo of Siena, a gorgeous Gothic cathedral.
Complementing the beauty of our surroundings, Consuelo’s two-piece bridal gown by Antonella del Brusco was the perfect match of modern and romantic. The “swish” of the skirt as we flowed through the streets of Siena provided beautiful movement on film, and the off-the-shoulder design was feminine and chic. Her look was completed by vintage-inspired earrings from the Rachel & Rose Collection and a Megan Therese Couture hairpiece. Consuelo’s bouquet also included olive branches and olives, which were a lovely tie into the season.
