Welcome to part two of my virtual getaway series! After our time in Istanbul and Athens, it was off to the Cyclades – an island group in the Aegean Sea that I’ve been dreaming of going to for years. It was the perfect spot to soak up the sun and relax as a couple!
We arrived via plane, which I recommend, after hearing about the ferry strikes scheduled in Athens during our stay. We were lucky that our travel plans weren’t derailed and settled into a nice rhythm of seafood, sun and sightseeing.
We stayed in our own private home in the main town of Chora, which was the perfect jumping off point. The house was white and blue (as I imagined) and had a beautiful little olive tree out front.
One highlight was enjoying happy hour while watching the sun set over the water.
And I really enjoyed watching the sun rise from the Portara, or Temple of Apollo. Isn’t that view incredible?
Additionally, we both loved exploring the beaches from the back of a motor bike (especially Tanner!)
Stay tuned for part 3 – Santorini! For now, I’ll be dreaming of this sunset over the Aegean Sea.
