Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

Charleston has long held a special place in my heart. For one thing, it’s arguably the most gorgeous spot in my home state of South Carolina, and it also happens to be the perfect place to enjoy so many of my favorite things – great food, abundant sunshine and the Ocean. I was thrilled to have our trip featured in Design Aglow’s Travel with Photographers Series, so head on over there to read the guide I put together with my Charleston recommendations! I am so excited to share more images from our trip here today!

Last year around this time, my husband, his parents and I planned an early spring get-away to Charleston over a long weekend. I loved helping find the perfect little Airbnb apartment for the four of us and researching places to eat, of course 🙂 After road tripping from the Atlanta area, we arrived mid-afternoon – just in time to go to Bowens Island for an early dinner (and to watch the sunset over the inlets surrounding the restaurant). We enjoyed amazing seafood, and I wandered around capturing the sun on the water! It was a magical way to kick off the trip!

Loved these sweet little birdies hanging out along the dock, and check out that amazing sunset! I just love the details in the sky – captured on film, of course!

Our first morning of the trip, Tanner & I headed over to Hominy Grill for a delicious brunch! I absolutely loved the Huevos Rancheros!

After brunch, we walked the surrounding streets together. I loved capturing the little details of the city and hanging out with this handsome man!

Oh my goodness, y’all – Taco Boy was an amazing discovery! Tanner & I still crave the tacos from this joint! Everything from more traditional tacos to Kimchi Beef and Fried Chicken tacos, this place is amazing!

A trip to Charleston would not be complete without visiting the Ocean. It didn’t matter that the weather was cloudy & cold – I still loved walking along the surf as we explored Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms!

I loved this old bridge too – the color was the perfect contrast to the tossing waves.

Come back next week for highlights from the rest of our time in Charleston! Happy Tuesday!
