Ashton & David’s wedding at Ashton Gardens Atlanta was the perfect way to wrap up an amazing 2016! I had the pleasure of meeting Ashton & David at Jenna & Evan’s wedding (which also happened to be at Ashton Gardens) over the summer. From our first interactions, I was impressed by this sweet couple’s strong faith in the Lord and their desire to plan a wedding that was a reflection of the two things they value most – God and their families.
I loved the way Ashton & David interacted throughout the wedding day – they were amazingly sweet, kind and thoughtful. Their interactions were joyful and intentional. The day started at Ashton’s MOH Hannah’s parents home – the girls giggled and prepped in the suite on the top floor while David and the guys played ping pong and hung out on the basement level. After Ashton got into her Suite Bridal gown, she and her Dad shared the sweetest Father-Daughter First Look before Ashton came down the stairs where her bridesmaids were waiting for the Big Reveal! Everyone squealed and beamed in excitement when she came into view! Both moments were adorably sweet, but nothing compared to Ashton & David’s First Look in the gorgeous chapel at Ashton Gardens. David waited at the end of the aisle, and with light pouring through the huge glass windows Ashton approached. David was beaming when he turned around to see her for the first time as a Bride (and those photos are some of my favorites! You’ll have to scroll through to see!)
After some portraits at nearby Sims Lake park and around Ashton Gardens with the wedding party and family, it was time for the ceremony. Moments before making everything official, Ashton’s bridesmaids along with both Moms gathered around to pray over Ashton & the marriage. Hearing the prayers of blessing, I worked hard to hold back tears of joy for Ashton & David – what a way to start a marriage, y’all! In addition to reading their own vows, both Ashton’s brother and grandfather read passages of scripture, and they lit the unity candle while “In Christ Alone” filled the rafters. Following the ceremony, we were able to sneak in a few more joyful portraits in gorgeous sunset light (so glad we did!) that were some of my favorites of the day! Then, it was off to celebrate in the reception where the Emerald Empire Band kept the party rocking all evening!
Ashton & David – Thank you for the privilege of capturing your amazing day! I’m encouraged by your love and faith in the Lord. With such an intentional start to your marriage I can only imagine all that God has planned for your years together ahead! Your joy is absolutely contagious and was such a privilege to capture. I pray that God will seal what He began in your hearts on day one and that the photographs will help remind you guys of His love and faithfulness in bringing you together! Much love & appreciation – Carrie Joy
