Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

Mary Beth & Culby’s wedding at the UGA Chapel and Georgian Hall in Athens, Georgia was a day I’ve been looking forward to since I first chatted with Mary Beth last year! I was instantly drawn to Mary Beth because of her kindness and joy, and I love that she & Culby have a beautiful friendship and heart for the Lord at the center of their relationship! Culby and Mary Beth are sweet, enthusiastic, fun-loving and adorably silly together! Capturing them was so much fun because they laughed together all day, and they naturally loved on each other without much prompting from me at all! They truly are a joy to be around!

The day began with Mary Beth and the girls getting ready in a beautiful, light-filled room at the Georgian Hall. Sun streamed in through the windows and Mary Beth was all smiles as hair and makeup commenced! Whitney of Whitewood Events and I had so much fun styling and photographing all Mary Beth’s elegant bridal details from her Badgley Mischka shoes to the family Bible! After hair and makeup were done, we headed over to UGA’s North Campus and it was time for Mary Beth to get into her gown! Once dressed, Mary Beth gave her Mom the sweetest gift – a painting of the house they’ve shared together over the past year. It was one of the sweetest gift ideas I’ve seen & I loved seeing Mary Beth and her Mom share that special moment together! Then, it was time for the Bridesmaids’ reveal and I just love the girls’ completely priceless reaction!

In a beautiful garden path next to the UGA Chapel where moments later they’d say their vows, Mary Beth & Culby shared a beautiful & joyful First Look! I loved capturing the incredible excitement on their faces as well as the moment they took to pray together. The light was absolutely beautiful, and after a very rainy spring, I was so happy it was such a gorgeous day! After capturing Bride and Groom photos, the wedding party came out to join us! I had so much fun capturing this group, and I think it’s a great testament to Mary Beth and Culby that they’re surrounded by such a great group of family and friends!

The ceremony took place inside the UGA Chapel. Mary Beth was absolutely radiant on her Dad’s arm, and I loved seeing Culby’s face light up as she came towards him! After sharing their vows, they took a special moment of prayer before exiting the chapel triumphantly as husband and wife! And once their wedding party joined them, they excitedly rang the UGA bell as the new Mr. & Mrs. Hinson!

After the ceremony, we took a few more pictures, and I loved capturing that officially married glow on Culby and Mary Beth’s faces! After a quick trolley ride back over to the Georgian Hall, it was time for the reception! We were able to sneak out during the reception for a few sunset portraits, and I’m so glad we did! The sky was full of fluffy pink and purple clouds that were absolutely gorgeous! The band kept the dance floor hopping all night, and Hairy Dawg also made an appearance and took the party to the next level! All in all, it was such a fun and perfect day for an absolutely wonderful pair!

Mary Beth and Culby – Getting to know you guys and capturing your wedding has been an absolute joy! It really felt like celebrating with two dear friends, and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to capture and be a part of all the joy! Your enthusiasm for life and love for the Lord inspires and encourages my heart! I know God has such wonderful things in store for you as a married couple! Nashville is blessed to have you, and I’m just gonna have to come visit! Love you guys – Carrie Joy
