Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

Rosalina & Doug’s wedding at Ivy Hall in Roswell, GA was the perfect way to begin ushering in the fall season, and I adore how it featured not only the love that Rosalina & Doug share but the other elements that make this time of year so great – family, friends and food! Rosalina & Doug are incredibly kind. Besides the way they love and take care of one another, they have this perfect way of making everyone around them feel special and loved. They’re also so much fun, and I loved capturing their giggles and full on belly laughs during our time taking their engagement photos at Skyline Park this past spring, and the wedding day was even more perfect!

The wedding day began at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Ravinia with hair and make up. I loved seeing all the girls come together not only to enjoy each other’s company, but also to help. What a sweet group! Once hair and makeup was complete, Rosalina got into her gorgeous Oleg Cassini gown with help from her Mom, and she looked absolutely stunning! After prep was complete, we headed over to the Roswell Mill for the First Look with Doug! It was such a beautiful and sweet moment between the two. I love Doug’s excited reaction upon seeing his bride! With the leaves at their peak to set the stage, Rosalina and Doug’s joy seemed to leap off the screen, and I loved seeing how the two dote on each other! Then, it was time for wedding party photos. The gentlemen looked incredibly dapper in their gray suits and subtly textured emerald ties, and the bridesmaids wore beautifully patterned floral gowns and carried greenery bouquets that included herbs as a nod to Doug’s career as a chef!

The ceremony was set against a gorgeous canopy of fall leaves complete with a beautiful floral arch by Alyssa Ice of Ginger Rose, and we were all entertained as Rosalina’s kindergarten teacher, Karen Hankins, led the ceremony reminding us all that everything we ever needed to know we learned in kindergarten! Rosalina and Doug read their own vows, and there was hardly a dry eye in the place! After the ceremony, Rosalina & Doug finished their couple portraits as the sun dropped behind the horizon. The soft light and romance between these two looked like something out of Gone with the Wind! Then, it was off to the reception where Bogey and the Viceroy kept the party going into the night! What a show! I can see now why Rosalina has loved going see them over the years, and it was such a sweet, personal touch to have them at the wedding!

Rosalina & Doug, it has been such a joy getting to know you guys and capture your love story! I’m impressed by your kindness, the way you love and care for each other, and they way you truly appreciate everyone around you. It’s so refreshing! I also love the way you’re both constantly laughing together! Continue to make each other laugh – it’s such a gift! Thank you for the privilege of capturing your beautiful day! Much love & appreciation – Carrie Joy

Isn’t this stunning? I just love how Whitney styled this suite with the ribbon and floral springs from Alyssa!

Doesn’t Rosalina look absolutely royal?!! I’m just in love with her off the shoulder gown by designer Oleg Cassini and golden floral tiara!

I absolutely adore First Looks!! I just love Doug’s excited expression and this sweetest hug!

Rosalina’s gift to Doug was these really cute pretzel cufflinks which reminded me of when the two shared pretzels at Skyline Park during their engagement session!

This is one of my favorites!!! I just absolutely love how happy Doug looks in this moment!

Aren’t these floral dresses from Show me your Mumu incredible?!! 🙂

The mix of greenery, soft romantic blooms and berries created the perfect backdrop for Rosalina & Doug’s outdoor ceremony!

Rosalina looked absolutely radiant as she came down the aisle on her Dad’s arm.

After a triumphant kiss, we whisked the newlyweds off for a few more photos in the romantic evening light!

Nothing says romantic quite like a slow dance under the glow of street lamps…

I just absolutely loved the bridal bouquet that Alyssa designed! The silk ribbons added the perfect touch of romance as well!

Congratulations, Rosalina & Doug! I’m so over the moon happy for you guys! XO

Thank you to the lovely Amanda Prior for helping capture this amazing day with me, and to the dream team of vendors who helped make their day absolutely incredible!!
