Rachel & Rob’s wedding at Smyrna First United Methodist Church and the Marlow House in Marietta was such a special day! First of all, I simply fell in love with these two when I first met them for engagement photos last fall! I loved their kindness & the way they both enjoy each other’s company! And during the session, I casually asked “So, have you set a date for your wedding yet?” to which they responded, “Yes, August 19th!” My eyes lit up, “That date is lucky! It’s my birthday!!” Haha! I was absolutely thrilled when Rachel & Rob asked if I would capture their wedding on such a special day!
What I love about Rachel & Rob is how unbelievably happy and joyful they are together! I love the way Rob lights up when Rachel looks at him, and the way Rachel’s joy overflows when she laughs! They are one of the kindest couples I’ve met, and I simply love being around them!
The wedding day began at Rachel’s friend’s Amy’s house where the girls were watching “27 Dresses” and drinking mimosas! I loved how the day started so relaxed! Rachel & her girls even brought out vegan cupcakes & sang “Happy Birthday!” to me which was such a sweet & wonderful surprise! Once Rachel was in her gown, it was off to the church in the coolest ride – a vintage Cadillac convertible! Rachel & Rob opted for a First Look before the ceremony, and true to form, the look in Rob’s eyes almost brought me to tears! Rachel looked absolutely stunning, and I loved capturing each of them with their amazing wedding party before the ceremony!
The Ceremony took place in the gorgeous sanctuary at Smyrna First United Methodist Church, and I absolutely loved how beautiful and classic everything looked, especially with Rachel’s stunning cathedral veil! After the ceremony, we finished photos and Rachel & Rob took a few glowy portraits by their sweet ride before heading over to the Marlow House for the reception where guests mingled and danced the night away! All in all, it was a beautiful day surrounded by the sweetest group of family & friends!
Rachel & Rob, you are such a joy to be around! I seriously cannot think of you two together without smiling! I’m so glad I’ve been able to get to know you during this special time in your lives! The large wrap-around porch and soft lamplight created a perfect atmosphere for those who wanted to hang out outside and inside the party continued into the night!
