Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

What I love most about Kayla and Tom is their easy going attitude and the sweet way they love one another! We met last Monday at Piedmont Park with their two adorable pups, Wilson & Brody, and the day turned into quite the adventure! We hid under a tree to escape getting completely soaked by a surprise shower, we avoided the other Labor Day park goers and chased the sunset to end the session in pretty, soft light! I asked Tom & Kayla to share their story below & I just adore how sweet they are to each other! Enjoy the story & the images!

“We met at our first jobs out of college working as pricing analysts for Office Depot.  Tom had already been working there for a few months and I showed up one Monday morning in December and when our manager Greg went to introduce us as Tom was walking to his desk next to mine Tom tripped and spilled coffee all over so he couldn’t even shake my hand. I like to think he fell for me then. 🙂  So our relationship started off as a friendship at work, and about seven months later we went on our first date!”

“I love that Tom is so much fun to be around and is up for any adventure.  He has such a big heart and is so loving and caring.”

“The thing I love most about Kayla is her infectiously happy and kind spirit. She takes so much care to make the ones closest to her feel loved. Whether it’s a warm smile from across the room, a simple ‘I love you’ when I’m feeling stressed, or a million other little things, Kayla always knows how to make me feel at home.”

About the Proposal (from Tom): “If there are two things Kayla enjoys most, it’s being in the outdoors and our two dogs, Wilson and Brody. I knew combining these two would create her perfect proposal! Two days after I received the ring (I was ready!), I suggested we go hiking the next day at Sweetwater Creek State Park with the dogs. I woke at the crack of dawn with nerves and excitement and carefully hid the ring in our hiking pack.  Along the hike, we stopped by the river and tied their leashes to a tree. Kayla asked to go sit on a boulder by the water. Perfect timing!! After a few quiet moments, I got down on one knee and proposed to my best friend with only nature and our dogs as the audience.”

Kayla & Tom, thank you both for being so amazing! I can’t wait for your wedding at Neverland Farms next April!
