Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

There’s such a mix of feelings and emotions on the morning of a wedding day: the flurry of activity, the rush of excitement and anticipation, the giggles of friends and family around you, the questions of  – “Are you nervous?” Those moments of preparation are some of my favorites of a wedding day. There’s such beauty in the quiet anticipation; such joy in the expectation.

But joy wasn’t just evident on the the wedding day, it’s been a quality I’ve witnessed since I first met Rachel & Ryan. Being a part of their Engagement and wedding planning process, I really felt more like I gained two friends than two clients. I’ve been inspired by their love for the Lord & others, especially when Rachel said that they wanted the ceremony to be all about Jesus & what He had done for them! She hoped that it came through in the photos; and it definitely did. Simply being around these two means you’ll be touched by God’s love & joy which has been evident not only on their beautiful wedding day but in every interaction with them along the way.

Rachel & Ryan – it has been an absolute pleasure being a part of your lives over the past year. I have adored being able to witness and capture your love for each other and for others. Your love for the Lord is an inspiration; and I have loved seeing the fruit of His Spirit evident in your lives! I’m so excited for all that He has for you both now that you are a married couple! Thank you for the privilege of being a part of your lives. Much love and appreciation – Carrie Joy

Jordan Holland did such an amazing job with Rachel’s hair & makeup! Doesn’t she look gorgeous?

I am in love the the texture and intricacy of Rachel’s Lazaro gown. And this little moment of preparation is one of my favorites!

Oh y’all, I could sing a myriad of songs about the beauty of black and white film, which has been a 2015 obsession of mine. There’s such a beauty to be found in simplicity, and sometimes simple means stripping a moment of color and observing it in black and white.

Words cannot express how much fun this group of ladies are! I adore Rachel & her amazing bridesmaids! XO, y’all!

I love a classic black suit and snappy bow tie! Don’t the guys look dapper?

One of my favorite songs, “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us” played as Rachel came down the aisle. The doors parted and this expression was on Ryan’s face. Even thinking back on this moment brings sweet (happy) tears to my eyes.

There’s such joy found in those first moments as husband & wife! Aren’t Rachel & Ryan simply radiant?

One thing I love about Rachel & Ryan is their sweet love & care for one another. Marriage means there’s always someone in your corner. What a blessing!

Aren’t Ryan & Rachel just adorable? Gosh, I die. The classic timelessness of black and white, the two of them bathed in sunset light, walking together just moments after saying “I do” – it doesn’t get much better than that!

With Father’s Day coming this weekend, I’ve been thinking a lot about the special relationship between Fathers & Daughters. Isn’t this image of Rachel & her Dad the sweetest? Moments like this make me melt!

The love and bond between sisters is an incredible gift, and it was seen in such a beautiful way during Rachel’s sister Amy’s heartfelt toast! We were all wiping tears away!

Congratulations, Rachel & Ryan! I’m so excited to see all the life holds for you both in the days ahead!

I’d like to say a big Thank you my second photographer Kristina for helping me capture the day & to all the lovely vendors who helped make Rachel & Ryan’s day a success!
