Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

Happy Tuesday, y’all! I’m so excited to share Jamey & Crystal’s story (and images, of course) with you today. From the moment I met Crystal & Jamey I adored with their joy & hearts for the Lord. They also have an incredible way with words, so I’m going to let them tell you their story, and trust me, you’re gonna love it!

From Jamey: “It was a Friday evening in June of 2013 when we met for the very first time. Each week throughout the summer, familiar faces along with new ones, would gather for a community volleyball game at Northpoint Church in Alpharetta, Georgia. Crystal, dressed more for a night on the town rather than the volleyball court, waited on the sidelines for the next game to start. It was about this time that I noticed Crystal as she eagerly waited to show off her volleyball skills. It only took me the entire night to work up the nerve to speak to her at a dinner hangout later that evening. Shortly thereafter I asked Crystal to go out on our very first date.”

From Crystal: “Our first date was at Flip Burger in Buckhead on June 26, 2013. One date lead to the next and the relationship began to flourish. I really enjoyed getting to know Jamey and was taken back by his witty personality, his southern gentleman chivalry, the ability to make me laugh in any situation, his kindness and patience, his charming looks, but above all, his heart for the Lord. Jamey and I soon recognized each other’s devotion to Christ and realized this would become the foundation of everything we lived for.”

Crystal: “We spent the next year and 5 months getting to learn each other’s character qualities, spending time with one another’s family and friends, worshiping together, learning how to better serve each other, and trusting in the Lord’s will for our lives. I had to do a lot of praying and asking God for better patience the last few months of our courtship because I didn’t think Jamey was EVER going to ask me to marry him!! 🙂 That all changed when he asked me out on a romantic dinner date on November 22, 2014.”

Jamey: “With bouquet in hand, a ring in my pocket, and sweat on my forehead, I approached Crystal’s apartment door. In order to soothe my nervousness that evening, I kept reminding myself of all the reasons I wanted to be with her. She has the most beautiful heart I’ve ever seen. She is filled with joy and thanksgiving. She has the gift of encouragement for those around her. She is kind, loving, and most importantly, has an amazing heart for the Lord. She is truly a sweetheart. The evening progressed to dinner in Buckhead where I popped the big question. A heartfelt “Yes!” was met with applause and cheers from everyone in the restaurant. From that moment forward, we continue to anxiously await the day we commit the rest of our lives to each other, in the presence of God, and with the support of our family and friends.”

Jamey & Crystal, I’m so excited for your wedding at the end of this month! 🙂
