Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

It was one of the most perfect fall days we’ve had so far – cool and sunny – a wonderful reminder of why this time of year is so special. Full of beautiful classic and southern details, Melanie’s elegant style came through in everything from her amazing dress to the Ferrero Rocher place cards! The classic beauty of Naylor Hall provided a stunning backdrop to a gorgeous evening. And all the moments, from the touching ceremony at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church to the fun evening dancing the night away, their wedding was the perfect combination of refined elegance and fun!

Melanie & Eric, I feel incredibly privileged to have been present to capture a part of your story – from your fabulous Engagement session in Destin to your beautiful wedding day, you have been a pleasure to capture. Melanie, I love photographing your amazing smile. True and amazing happiness emanated from you both the entire wedding day! I’m so excited that I get to see the two of you come together as an inseparable team of husband and wife. I hope these images will be a reminder of the wonderful start to your new journey as a married couple! Much love & appreciation – Carrie Joy

We began the day with hair & makeup at Salon Arcaro & I love Melanie’s elegant bridal look!

I love Melanie’s stunning gown by Justin Alexander; the silhouette is simply beautiful!

Eric and the guys enjoyed some bourbon in the groom’s room prior to the ceremony while they finished getting ready.

Melanie added finishing touches to her bridal look in the beautiful front room at Naylor Hall – isn’t she gorgeous? Melanie, I love your style!

Melanie’s girls looking absolutely adorable in their navy J.Crew Marlie dresses! The green, white and navy make the perfect elegant, southern color palette!

While Melanie & Eric decided to wait to see each other until the ceremony, they did have a little moment together (hidden on either side of a door) to read cards they’d written to each other and say a few words to each other. Then, Eric gave Melanie’s hand a little kiss before the girls were whisked off to the church. It was a really sweet moment!

Eric and the guys drank bourbon on the porch in the sun; enjoying each others company & keeping each other laughing! 🙂

The ceremony was held at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church. Eric was beaming as Melanie approached him on her father’s arm…

The love in Eric’s eyes here slays me – so incredibly sweet!

I love this moment Julia (my lovely friend and second photographer) captured just after the lighting of the Unity Candle of Melanie & Eric walking together in the light. The minister pointed out just afterwards that the Burning Bush stained glass window had never shined as brightly as it had at that moment. What a wonderful reminder of God’s presence in their ceremony!

The first kiss as husband and wife followed by the celebratory exit! 🙂

Those first joyful moments after the ceremony ends are some of my favorite of the entire wedding day…

I love the playful toss of the veil here, Melanie! You are beautiful!

I adore this moment in black & white that Julia captured & that look from the adoring groom – smoldering!

Following some portraits in the gorgeous late afternoon light, the couple hopped in their limo & headed for the reception at Naylor Hall!

Melanie used mercury glass, touches of gold & the beautiful green & white florals by Magnolia Street Floral for the ballroom.

Melanie & Eric’s first dance was the Foxtrot & they did an amazing job! This image Julia captured of Melanie’s face during the dance is one of my favorites! 🙂

After dinner, we snuck out for a few more portraits of the happy couple in the glow of the lights from Naylor Hall at twilight – what a romantic time of day…

I’m smitten, OK obsessed, with this wedding cake by Sweet Caroline’s Cakes – soooo elegant!

The Father-Daughter, Mother-Son dances are always some of my favorites & I loved how Eric & his Mom ended their dance by moving from a traditional slow dance into a fun party song that everyone could join in on! Way to get the party started!

I love how Melanie’s gown swished and twisted as she & Eric danced with their guests!

Eric, I love how much fun you’re having in this photo & Melanie, your grandparents are too cute!

So many good dancers at Melanie & Eric’s wedding! I love the energy & movement – even now it just makes me want to dance!

Congratulations again, Melanie & Eric!
