Betsy & Shawn’s wedding at In the Woods in Rockmart, Georgia was such a beautiful day! I first met Betsy last year when I started working at the Georgia House of Representatives as their photographer for legislative session, and I had the chance to meet Shawn during session as well! I immediately loved the pair together! I adore the way they make each other laugh and the way they’ve supported each other every step of their relationship! And, I was thrilled when I saw that Shawn proposed on Betsy’s birthday down in Savannah last spring! We had an absolute blast taking their engagement photos at the North Georgia State Fair last fall, and the wedding was even more fun!

The day began with Betsy & her party getting ready in one of the cabins at In the Woods! Highlights include – Taylor Swift playing while everyone got ready, the emotional Bridesmaids’ Reveal and Betsy’s First Look with her Dad! On the other side of the property, Shawn and the guys hung out & got ready at the pool house, and I love the fun photos Steven (my second photographer for the day) captured of the guys!

The ceremony was set inside the pavilion right along the lake, and it was amazingly appropriate that the sun decided to show up right about the time Betsy made her grand entrance! One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing Shawn’s eyes well up with tears when he saw Betsy for the first time as his bride! Their entire ceremony was beautiful and emotional! After wiping away a few happy tears, the new Mr. and Mrs. left the ceremony to huge applause! I love the excitement you could see on their faces!

After the ceremony, we finished photos around the lake, and I was thrilled that the sun pierced through the trees – truly highlighting their joy & love! After photos, we went over to the reception where friends and family enjoyed margaritas – Betsy & Shawn’s signature drink in honor of Cinco de Theroux (their special spin on Cinco de Mayo!). From the memorable entrances to toasts (one even by Speaker Ralston!) their reception was full of energy and joy, and they left the reception through a tunnel of sparklers!

Betsy and Shawn – I’m so happy for you guys! You could not be more perfect for each other, and it’s been such an honor to witness and capture your love story! Betsy, your smile lights up the room, and Shawn, I adore seeing the way you love Betsy! The joy, the emotion, the party – I loved being a part of it all!
