Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

Lindsey & Chad’s engagement session at the Jackson Street Bridge and Piedmont Park was absolutely stunning! It was the perfect celebration of the end of summer, and on top of that, they’re officially the first ones featured on my new blog! Woohoo! So many reasons to celebrate! I adored capturing Lindsey & Chad’s love, and the soft summer evening light that I love so much was capped off by an absolutely stunning sunset! So excited to share a few of my favorites here today!

And now, for their story! “Lindsey and Chad met in college; Lindsey was at UGA and Chad was at University of North Georgia. One weekend, Lindsey went up to Dahlonega with a high school friend who was dating someone attending North Georgia. Chad turned out to be the roommate of the boyfriend, and they all ended up hanging out that weekend. Despite being long distance, they went on a few dates in the following weeks and have been together ever since. Even through Chad transferring to Georgia Tech and Lindsey moving to a different state for graduate school, they managed to keep their relationship strong.”

Lindsey, what is it about Chad that you love the most? – “He is my better half. Chad is the most genuine, kind, and selfless person I know, and he makes me into a better person. I love that he makes me laugh and that I can be myself around him. He really understands me and always tries to make me happy.”

Chad, what is it about Lindsey that you love the most? – ” I love that I can be my true self around her. She laughs at all my dumb jokes and enjoys my silly sense of humor. I love that we are able to connect on so many levels, and that we share mutual interests. I love that she is thoughtful and forgiving. Most importantly, she gives me motivation and encouragement when I need it the most, and I know she will always be there for me.”

About the Proposal – “Shortly after they both graduated with their Master’s degrees, they took a vacation to Colorado with a couple of friends. During their trip, they went on many hiking trails exploring the beautiful scenery that the Rocky Mountains had to offer. On one hike, they took a picture on the way up the mountain at a particularly stunning overlook. On the way back down, Chad asked his friend to take another picture of them at the same spot, and he then dropped to a knee. He could barely breathe — maybe it was nerves or just the high altitude, but he managed to ask her to marry him.”

Lindsey & Chad, thank you so much for sharing your story! I can’t wait to capture your wedding at the Tate House in March!
