Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

Emily & Josh are a genuine, warm & inviting couple. From the moment I met them, I just loved them, so it should have come as no surprise that their family and friends would be incredible! These two met in Boone, NC while Emily was in grad school at App State and Josh was working in Washington, DC. Their early days were full of long phone calls & road trips to see each other. Love that’s survived a long distance relationship is in my humble opinion, always sweeter! When Emily graduated and got a job at her alma mater KSU, Josh followed her to Georgia, and the rest, as they say, is history!

The wedding day started out cloudy (much like their Engagement session), but the soft light again worked in their favor for the gorgeously romantic portraits and made the fall colors really pop! The morning was marked with giggles as the girls hung out and Emily’s sister Jillian did her bridal makeup! After separate portraits in the garden, Emily & Josh tied the knot at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta. I love Josh’s emotional expression upon seeing his bride! After the ceremony, everyone headed over to Roswell where we took portraits at the Roswell Mill – the light was stunning and the colors with the changing leaves were absolute perfection! Dinner and dancing followed at Ivy Hall before the newlyweds said good-bye (in their matching leis and festive kicks) as they headed off to Maui!

Emily & Josh – There’s something so sweet & true about your love. Emily, the care that you bring not only to Josh but to the world around you really helps make this world a better place. Josh, your joyous enthusiasm for life is quite contagious! The energy you brought to photos during the wedding made it an absolute joy to capture! It’s been such an honor getting to know you both! Thank you for the privilege of being a part of this season of your lives. I hope these photos always bring back the joy you felt on this amazing day! Much love & appreciation – Carrie Joy
