Bride on the steps of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center

Katie’s Bridal Session at the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA was the perfect way to end 2020. We met on what was one of the nicest December days I’ve ever experienced – with temperatures in the high sixties, it was incredibly warm & pleasant, even for a city that has […]

Emily & Thomas’ wedding was the perfect way to start 2016. First, I was incredibly excited to shoot another wedding at one of my absolute favorite Atlanta wedding venues – Summerour Studio. This is proof that winter weddings can be absolutely stunning! Most of you know of my deep love for Italy; well, Summerour channels a gorgeous Italian vibe while being situated right in the middle of Atlanta! Win win!

It’s so much fun discovering things about a couple (or their family) that you weren’t aware of before the wedding – like what a good dancer Thomas is (Thomas, you blew me away!) or how silly Emily can be (your funny faces during the day kept us all laughing!). I also loved how Emily’s Mom Virginia and grandmother Ann were totally bringing their moves to the dance floor! Virginia, Emily said she never sees you dance – you’ve been holding out on us! But more than just dancing and being silly, I love that Emily & Thomas’ day was full of love – not only between the two of them – but their family and friends. The love and joy was palpable – and I can’t wait for you to see that in the photographs!

Emily & Thomas – thank you for sharing your love with me and for being yourselves. Y’all are a gorgeous couple inside & out! I hope and pray that you’ll both hang on to those things you love about each other – her care and empathy for others, his curiosity and drive to change the world. When challenges come (and they always do) hang on to each other tight! I also hope these photographs will always bring you back to the joy and bliss of your wedding day! Much love & appreciation – Carrie Joy

I absolutely ADORE this gorgeous getting ready space at Summerour! The light is just stunning! 🙂 And I’m in love with this lovely portrait my second photographer Allison took of Emily (above)

I loved the moments surrounding Emily’s first look with her Mom and Dad! So, so much sweetness!

Isn’t that just adorable? Gosh, I just love Daddy-Daughter moments so much 🙂 After the seeing Dad, it was time for Emily & Thomas to see each other!

First Looks are the best!!! Look at those incredible smiles! Having a First Look at a winter wedding also means still being able to take pictures in daylight! So pretty!

Some of my favorites!! I adore that “look of love” that Thomas is giving Emily! Aren’t they a stunning couple?

Oh y’all – isn’t Emily stunning? Love how that winter sunlight just sparkles over her dress!

LOVE this shot of Emily & her gorgeous bridesmaids with lovely bouquets by k&co floral design!

These beautiful ladies are Emily & Thomas’ mothers – aren’t they lovely?

I absolutely LOVE the gorgeous centerpieces created by Kirk & her team at k&co floral design. Don’t they have a lovely Tuscan feel?

I love how silly and fun Emily & Thomas are together & how that came out in the first dance!

This moment during the Father-Daughter dance is one of my absolute favorites!

And, A-town A-list brought the house down! What an amazing party!

Congrats Emily & Thomas! What an amazing way to start 2016! 🙂
